Measuring neck size

We custom make our collars to match the neck size you provide to us. The measure your dog's neck size, use a cloth tape measure or string and determine the measurement in inches around your dog's neck where the collar would normally sit. The measuring tape should be layed flat on the fur with no space underneath but should not be pulled tight.
If your pet has an existing collar with a prefered setting, you can measure the distance from the very end of the buckle as it sits on the dog all the way along the length of the collar to the prefered notch hole that the buckle normally fits into. This measurement should be very close to the measurement you would have gotten if you had measured the neck directly.
Please do not rely on various collar length numbers used by other manufacturers because different manufacturers use different methods. We use only the actual measurement of your dog's neck. The proper fit of a collar should be loose enough to allow several fingers to slide under the collar but never so loose as to allow the collar to slide over the dog's head. A collar that is too loose is a hazard because a pet could easily slip out of the collar when you are not expecting it.
